?It’s easy to take for granted the fact that the bread in your sandwich won’t have a knife baked into it, but for one Florida couple that’s exactly what happened.

On Saturday, the Herald Tribune reported on a couple that had received a sharp surprise in their recent purchase from a Sarasota Subway. The bread contained a 5-inch blade, typically used to mark the length of the rolls, that had been mistakenly baked inside. Fortunately, the woman discovered the knife prior to biting into the sandwich.

Upon returning to the Subway to voice a complaint, the couple was rewarded with a free meal and profuse apologies. The employee responsible for baking the knife into the roll was fired from the Subway, and the owner of that particular branch has deemed the mishap, “absolutely unacceptable.”
