Despite the sad decline in restaurant goers opting for a four figure meal, Zagat is reporting high end steakhouses continue to be a safe bet. Food and restaurant consultant Clark Wolf is quoted as saying, “Steakhouses are the gold of the restaurant business – a safe place to park your money. In this economy, people want to know that they are getting something real and restaurateurs want security.” Apparently the beautiful pink hue of a perfectly cooked steak trumps the novelty of molecular cuisine or restaurants with more modern fare. Just like The Rat Pack and New Kids on the Block, some things are classic for a reason.
