Citing a struggling economy, Starbucks announced Monday that it will begin serving coffee and breakfast combos for a price of $3.95. This could be an attempt on their part to regain some of the customers they’ve been losing to more budget-conscious options like McDonald’s and Dunkin’ Donuts. The new breakfast pairings will consist of either a 12-ounce coffee with a breakfast sandwich or roll, or a 12-ounce latte with oatmeal or coffee cake.

Unfortunately, there is no word yet on whether Starbucks plans to include a 16-ounce Frappuccino and donut combo for customers hoping to spend the rest of the day feeling completely miserable. However, we’re keeping our fingers crossed.
