Food Roundup for October 5

Here’s what was being written about today in the world of food and dining news:

After 68 years, Gourmet Magazine is no more. Cafe Society has the “full memo that put the knife in Gourmet’s cake,” and Chow Bella reflects on the end of an era. Looks like it’s time to get a subscription to Bon Appetit.

R.I.P. Gourmet. Foodies are mourning.

Meanwhile, in happier news (…maybe…) Hostess Cupcakes is celebrating its 90th anniversary. Not only that, but we’re pretty sure we’ve got some Hostess products in our pantry heading toward their 10th anniversary by now.

And lastly, in another episode of Cheap Wine that Doesn’t Suck, Clean Plate Charlie presents a 2008 Andeluna Torrontes. For 10 bucks, we’re willing to give it a try.
