Here’s what was being written about today in the world of food and dining news:
- Fat City gets the ball rolling with a reflection on simpler times and a humble request to bring back lunch boxes. Plus, everyone knows soup tastes 75 percent better when eaten out of a Thermos.

- City of Ate does some serious research and offers up the 10 most important influences on food in our lifetimes. Oddly enough, the decline of the lunch box is absent from the list.
- Cafe Society grosses us out with unwanted knowledge by listing the top five most shocking food facts from Food, Inc. Isn’t there a saying about ignorance being linked to happiness?
- And lastly, The Hot Dish offers up a rundown of the recent Zagat reviews for airline food. Unfortunately, all inquiries regarding, “What’s the deal with airline food?” remain unanswered.
