Here’s what was being written about today in the world of food and dining news:

PETA is at it again, and pushing for vegetarians to get cheaper health insurance. You’ve gotta hand it to them, they really know how to propose realistic and easy to implement solutions for society’s most pressing issues.

Fat City is both horrifying and amusing us with their five most horrible questions a waiter could hear. Number 2 is, “Excuse me, I think there’s a dead body in your men’s room,” which is really more of a statement than a question.

City of Ate is laying down the law by writing up the top 10 words you’ll never see on their site. We’re with them on “Foodie” but there’s just no way to remove “sliders” from our vocabulary.

And lastly, in another installment of Obscure Wine Grapes, Eating Our Words is introducing the uninitiated to the world of Carignan. Apparently it’s an obscure wine grape. Who’d have thunk it?
