Food Roundup for July 27

Here’s what was being written about today in the world of food and dining news:

Fat City brings news of Jack in the Box’s new automated kiosks that will let you order your Double Ultimate Cheeseburger combo (and milkshake upgrade) without enduring any harsh judgment from an actual cashier. That way you can delay feeling self-conscious about your gluttonous order until minutes later when you’re sitting in a corner booth eating alone.

Meanwhile, in ice cream news, SFoodie has the scoop on a company that provides custom ice cream right to your front door. We were extremely excited about the concept until we saw the price…

In a segment called, Reviewing the Chains, Clean Plate Charlie takes a look at Wendy’s Sweet and Spicy Asian Chicken. Not to give too much away, but the author had low expectations and still seemed to walk away disappointed.

And, lastly, in another installment of Cheap Wine that Doesn’t Suck, the wine on display is Ravenswood Zinfandel. It’s $12 a bottle and kicks sand in the faces of those wussy white Zinfandels.
