Here’s what was being written about today in the world of food and dining news:
- Cafe Society discusses the recently announced closing of El Bulli. Starting in 2012, one of the world’s most highly regarded restaurants will be shutting down for 2 years. Meanwhile, the doors at Arby’s will remain open.
- In the latest installment of Cheap Wine That Doesn’t Suck, Clean Plate Charlie champions the 2008 Red Cote Rosé. At 12 bucks a bottle it’s certainly worth a shot.
- Gut Check shares news of the latest fast food gut bomb, reporting on the new 830 calorie breakfast sandwich from Hardee’s. Do you think one is enough?
- And lastly, City of Ate pines for simpler (and possibly more racist) times, with a reflection on the Frito Bandito. Ay Yi Yi, indeed.
