Food Roundup for Feb. 10
Here’s what’s going on today in dining, eating, and general food news:
With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, one chocolatier has a unique spin on the wine and chocolates classic, offering a chocolate dipped bottle of Champagne. The cost is $18 per bottle, but you have to provide your own Champagne. So, if you’re anything like us that will bring your total cost to somewhere in the neighborhood of $23.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, if you find this next item interesting then you might not need to worry about Valentine’s Day at all. It’s a compilation of the most magnificent fictional foods and drinks in nerd-dom. We’d complain about the fact that the magically filling Lambas Bread (from Lord of the Rings) didn’t make the cut, but that might just be taking our nerdiness a little too far.
And, for anyone who has actually heard of Lambas Bread, here are some much needed tips on how to buy a drink for someone at a bar. It seems there’s a little more to it then sending over a shot of Jaeger with a note requiring her to check yes or check no for “sexy-time.”
Lastly, while we’re on the topic of drinks, here’s a quick explanation from a server about why you should be a little more tolerant if you happen to get carded. When someone cards you, it’s not because they’re trying to be a pain in the ass, it’s usually just because they aren’t a huge fan of being arrested. So whip out that unappealing photo from four years ago and deal with the inconvenience.
