Here’s what was being written about today in the world of food and dining news:
After much anticipation, KFC’s new Double Down sandwich has finally arrived, and it’s pretty much the only thing anyone was talking about.
- First off, Gut Check offers a taste test, and reports KFC’s Double Down sandwich is not the bacon apocalypse.

- Fork in the Road also samples the new double decker fried chicken feast and states, “I ate it and lived!” While Squid Ink cautions you to, “Hide the children.“
- And, rounding out our Double Down news, Clean Plate Charlie asks the important question, “Is this sandwich all that shocking?” At 540 calories for the fried version, it’s hardly a big deal.
- Lastly, in palate cleansing, non-KFC news, The Hot Dish is recommending five great spring ciders to help wash down that fried chicken taste. Plus, they’ll help you drown your sorrows when the Double Down fails to live up to all its hype.
