Food Roundup for Feb 5

Today in the world of food and dining:

There’s an awful lot that goes into a great sandwich, and this post on the art of the sandwich offers a love letter to delicious sandwiches everywhere. Dagwood would be pleased.

Sammiches are de-licious.

A wanna-be-chef spills some Cooking School Secrets, a couple of which we’d rather not have read. The most frightening thing, everyone at culinary school is forced to watch the Sara Michelle Gellar “hit” Simply Irresistible.

Romano’s Macaroni Grill is now offering food you can cook at home. The packages tend to be priced a few dollars under what you would pay in the restaurant, and are incredibly simple to make. The only downside is when you prepare the food at home there’s not going to be a server required to write their name upside down on the table in Crayon. You’ll have to just imagine that part yourself.

And lastly, in the “we couldn’t agree more” category, here is a brief rant about new Top Chef judge Toby Young. His long winded analogies are like a tired locomotive, struggling to find its way into the next station and grasping at every last piece of coal in order to…yeah, you probably stopped caring where that was going, and that’s our point.
