Food Roundup for March 9

Here’s what’s going on today in the world of food and dining:

Let’s start things of with a recap from the Great Arizona Beer Festival. The story features notes on 11 different beers, and apparently there were numerous samplings that somehow got lost in the shuffle.

If the hat is any indication, good times were had by all.

In other news, here’s a nice little tribute to the convenience of Papa Murphy’s. Although we’d like to see a little more praise for the actual pizza instead of just a bunch of kind words about ease and affordability, we’re willing to look the other way. The important thing is they reminded us it’s time to order another family-size stuffed pizza capable of feeding 5 people for an entire week.

Also on a ludicrous portion size note, the do-it-yourself McGangbang from McDonald’s was written about today in The Hot Dish. We’re not sure what sparked this recent online McGangbang phenom, but we’re guessing it has something to do with trying to be featured on thisiswhyyourefat.com.

And lastly, in booze news, in honor of Canadian Club Whisky’s 150-year anniversary, a few people at the Broward-Palm Beach New Times office were treated to a bottle of the 30-year limited edition release. At first we were incredibly jealous, but the Daily Fork office had a little tasting of their own with a cask-strength bottle of Nyquil. Take that, New Times.
