Food Roundup for March 6

Here’s what’s being talked about today in food and dining news:

Since it has been a long week, let’s start off with a nice little rant about annoying tip jar inscriptions. We’re kind of with the author on this one and don’t really like being bullied into tipping when we’re just grabbing a carry-out order.

Thanks, but I’m already aware of how tipping works.

On a much happier note, Sweet Republic in Phoenix is offering bacon ice cream. Although it’s probably not going to find its way into a banana split anytime soon, we’d definitely love to sample a scoop of this sweet and savory treat.

And lastly, because it wouldn’t be a Friday without a little bit of booze news, here’s an endorsement of “Tiny Heinies,” the 7 oz Heinekens. Even though it sounds like the purchase started off as a mistake, the fact that they’re sticking with the small container seems like a huge waste when they could have returned the 7 oz baby bottles for the infinitely more manly 5-liter DraughtKeg.
