Food Roundup for March 30

Here’s what’s being written about today in the world of food and dining news:

Did somebody say Lobsterfest? Of course not, but that shouldn’t stop you from reading about the guilty pleasures you can find at the unfairly shunned Red Lobster. Even though the clock is ticking on Lobsterfest, you’ve still got a couple weeks left to experience the magic.

It might not be Beerfest, but it’s still pretty special.

If you’re too far away to make it to a Red Lobster, you can drown your sorrows with a Bijou, the “gem of a drink” featured today by our friends at Fork in the Road.

Also, if you’ve got a bit of time on your hands or just happen to know a kick-ass mushroom recipe, then you’ll want to check out the Mushroom Council’s “Every Day Every Way” contest. You can win up to $2,000 by entering a winning recipe and immediately blow it all on truffles and Portobello Mushroom burgers.

Lastly, if there are any food words that make you cringe, now’s your opportunity to whine about whatever over-the-top descriptor gets your blood boiling. The author says “tongue tingling” is just plain wrong, but we can’t help thinking Pop Rocks are getting a raw deal if we take that phrase off the table.
