Here’s what’s being written about today in food and dining news:

St. Patty’s day is now a distant memory. That is, of course, unless you’re still carrying around a pounding headache as a reminder of last night’s festivities. However, if your night was one of moderation and good decision-making, then you can opt to live-it-up vicariously through Cafe Society’s Jason Sheehan and his quest for a Shamrock Shake.

A new law went into effect on Monday that will place country of origin labeling requirements on most meats, fruits, veggies and some nuts. So, if you’re a stickler for making sure your ground beef is all coming from the same place, this is definitely cause for celebration.

And lastly, if you’re wondering what the largest store brand in the United States is, you can look no further than Walmart’s very own Great Value. Outselling brands like Kraft, and Johnson & Johnson, it sounds like Walmart is upping their game and planning on getting more aggressive with their brand. If Walmart needs any help on a package redesign, we’re pretty sure the people who just worked on Tropicana’s rebranding have a bit of time on their hands.
