Here’s what was being written about today in the world of food and dining news:
- The semi-finalists for the James Beard Awards were announced today, and Fork in the Road has the complete list. Apparently, Chipotle Mexican Grill is more respected than we thought.

- Seattle Weekly’s Voracious reports on Burger King’s new deal with Starbucks that will bring high quality fast-food coffee to the entire world…or at least make it available in 7,250 restaurants.
- Stick a Fork In It’s Dueling Dishes column sets its sights on rating various brands of gin.
- And lastly, Clean Plate Charlie takes a look at Dogfish Head Squall IPA in the most recent installment of Beer of the Week. At 9% alcohol by volume, this week’s brew is not for the faint of heart.
