After an 8 year legal battle, the Malaysian restaurant McCurry is finally free of McDonald’s tyrannical stranglehold on the “Mc” prefix. The Federal Court court in Kuala Lumpur ruled that McCurry was in no way trying to pass itself off as being affiliated with “the McDonald’s empire,” and brought the almost decade long legal battle to a halt. We can only assume that in light of this devastating loss, McDonald’s will now shift its full attention to suing anyone brazen enough to use the term McJob in reference to a non-McDonald’s position.
