MillerCoors is currently testing a 1.5-gallon “Home Draft” system for both Miller Lite and Coors Light. The new boxed beer packaging is being test marketed in six different cities including Phoenix and Dallas, and is designed to conveniently fit in the refrigerator, keeping beer fresh for approximately 30 days. MillerCoors is hoping this product will tap into the 30% of consumers who say they prefer draft beer to bottles or cans, and presumably also have an entire refrigerator shelf that can be dedicated to beer storage.
