Each year the Great American Beer Festival awards gold silver and bronze medals to remarkable beers from all across the country. Journalist and blogger Rick Lyke has shuffled through each of the awards handed out since 1987 and put together an impressive visual representation of the overall medal count by state. Not surprisingly, California tops the list with Colorado, Wiconsin, Oregon and Pennsylvania rounding out the top 5.
