Thousand dollar meals are being hit harder by the economy than we ever could have expected. So, in an attempt to keep the industry alive, Stephen Colbert worked his way through three ridiculously extravagant (and stupidly expensive) menu items in last night’s installment of Colbert Platinum. After seeing the three $1,000 items, it’s hard to believe there’s not a bigger market for caviar crusted pizza and gold sprinkled sundaes. But, maybe people are just too cheap.
