Michael Imperioli, made famous for his role as Christopher Moltisanti in The Sopranos, has started shilling for 1800 Tequila. The commercial features the TV star taking a jab at well-known premium tequila Patron, and none-too-subtly kicking it off the table so he can sit back and enjoy the more moderately priced 1800.
We’ll be the first to concede that Patron is a bit overrated, but getting a B-list celebrity to call them out on it might not be the most effective strategy. It’s hard to imagine someone who’s already bought into the nonsensical praise from Chamillionaire being swayed back by the star of High Roller: The Stu Ungar Story. But, either way, hiring Imperioli was unquestionably a better decision than the initial idea of getting A.J. Soprano. That guy’s just a douche.
