Slate Rates the Coffee from Three Major Chains

​For the convenience of lazy coffee drinkers everywhere, Slate has provided in depth reviews of the coffee and cappuccinos from Starbucks, McDonald’s, and Dunkin’ Donuts. Surprisingly, in a blind taste test of six staff members, the new McCafe cappuccino scored some pretty favorable marks, outshining Starbucks’ slightly more expensive offering. However, when it comes to a regular cup of joe, Dunkin’ Donuts’ low priced drip scored the highest ratings. Although true coffee aficionados will probably opt to steer clear of all three, there are occasions when laziness gets the best of you, and for those rare instances, it’s nice to know how your options stack up.
