<\/span>This past weekend, 12 of the world’s most prominent wine experts made their way to France’s Perrier-Jouet Champagne House for a tasting of 20 historic vintages from the house’s private cellars<\/a>. Some of the most noteworthy tastings included the famous “PJ 1874” which was sold at auction in 1885 and dubbed the world’s most expensive champagne and Perrier-Jouet Vintage 1825, the oldest champagne in the world.<\/p>\n

Serena Sutcliffe, head of the international wine division at Sotheby’s said:<\/p>\n

“It is virtually impossible to assign a value to the 1825 vintage — we’ve never seen anything like it on the market! This was, quite simply, the opportunity of a lifetime tasting such exceptional, historic vintages.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
