First they went after Starbucks with the McCafe, and now McDonald’s is taking on the coffee giant by providing free WiFi in approximately 11,000 of their 14,000 U.S. locations. The move by McDonald’s seems to be a direct attack on Starbucks’ confusing register your gift card or pay $3.99 for WiFi model.
Starting next month, you’ll no longer need to shell out $2.95 on a connection if you want to work remotely from the comfort of a Mickey D’s. Not only will you be able to score a six-piece chicken nuggets while “at work,” but you’ll never be more than 145 miles away from free WiFi again.
