According to an article released today by Bloomberg Press, McDonald’s has given Mr. Pibb the heave-ho and will now be carrying Dr. Pepper in all of its 14,000 locations. This is a huge win for Dr. Pepper Snapple Group, which currently ranks third in the U.S. fountain drink market.
For more specifics on McDonald’s new fountain drink strategy you can read the article “McDonald’s Boots Coca-Cola’s Pibb for Rival Dr Pepper.” However, we’re guessing it pretty much boils down to Mr. Pibb being no match for the 23 flavors and advanced degree of Dr. Pepper.
