The biggest problem with having a Christmas tree is that once the new year rolls around, you’ve got a dried-up tree that needs to be disposed of. The Nanjing mall in Shanghai has found a way to avoid this little Christmas tree nuisance by building their own token of holiday cheer out of 1000 Heineken bottles.
Not only is the tree composed entirely of Heineken bottles, but rather than using empties, the bottles are all filled with beer just waiting to be consumed as soon as the holidays are over. As far as we’re concerned, Rockefeller Center can keep their fancy pants giant tree. In a down economy, we’re backing the tree that provides enough beer to last all through 2010.
