A controversial topless coffee shop was the victim of a suspicious fire yesterday at approximately 1:00 am. The blaze occurred just hours after owner Donald Crabtree had appeared before the town’s planning board to discuss potential expansion of his love it or hate it establishment. It was no secret that some of the local residents were less than thrilled with the shop’s February opening, and at least one member of the community had complained recently of seeing an employee outside the coffee shop without a shirt on.

The Boston Globe reported the building as a total loss, and the owner who poured $277,000 into the business says it was not insured. Investigators believe they have determined the cause of the fire, and it appears to be arson, though no details have been released at this time.
