Canadian Cranberries Make Splash at 2010 Winter Olympics

In Richmond, British Columbia, Canada, getting into the Olympic spirit means wasting a ton of fresh cranberries on a display of the special 2010 Canadian Olympics logo and the always present interlocking rings.

Showing pride, and possibly a penchant for wasting agricultural products grown in the local area, Richmond’s floating display contains 13 million cranberries, which is equal to 30,000 pounds. That’s one helluva fancy looking bog.
