Binge drinkers rejoice! A recent article published by The Daily Telegraph is reporting on recently compiled data that determines drinkers are significantly “better off when it comes to developing diseases affecting cognitive function.” The article states, “the study found imbibers, in general, had a 47 percent reduced risk of contracting dementia compared with teetotallers…” and that there is “a clear link between drinking and a reduced risk of dementia.”
Without getting into all of the scientific “facts” and mumbo jumbo, let’s just opt to read this as saying binge drinking prevents Alzheimer’s, and all head out to the bar to start investing in our own long-term care. Some people drink to forget, but from now on, we’re drinking to remember.
