A couple months back US News and World Report published an article recommending 10 great places for foodies to retire. The recommendations included Cincinnati, Jacksonville, Houston, Miami, Washington DC, San Francisco, and Scottsdale, along with Burlington, Vermont, Walla Walla, Washington, and McMinnville, Oregon. However, if the goal is really to “tickle your palate without cracking your nest egg,” as the article suggests, it’s hard to make a case for a couple of the more expensive cities on the list. Still, we’re curious what our readers think, and which cities you feel would make a great location for retirees that still demand high quality food. Where would you retire if you wanted great food on a moderate budget?
