There might not be anything more awkwardly amusing than watching an old person ramble on about something mundane. And, while we’re assuming this accounts for the continued popularity of Larry King and Willard Scott, today’s stream of consciousness comes from legend Andy Rooney. A recent segment in which Rooney wanders around a local market offering insights such as, “I don’t like green fruit. Green is for vegetables,” and, “I think a cherry is the only thing that I’ve ever stolen from a store,” is part SNL skit and part pointless fluff piece. Either way, we can’t bring ourselves to stop watching it over and over again.
