It wasn’t much more than a month ago that we wrote about the 2 meters by 1.25 meters cupcake in London that was being dubbed the world’s largest. Well, that record was shattered this past weekend when a 1,224-pound triple vanilla monstrosity was baked up for the Woodward Dream Cruise Classic Cars Event in Royal Oak, Michigan. The cupcake took an astounding 800 eggs and 200 pounds of sugar and flour to complete, and the total baking time clocked in at approximately 12 hours. There is no word on whether the ousted Londoners plan to answer back and reclaim the record, but all things considered, letting the state of Michigan finally have a win might be the most sportsmanlike thing to do.
